How netplay works.
On the main menu, select "VS Network."
The Netplay menu looks like this.
The first option is "Host a match" (after picking this, the first question asks what port to use {10800 is the default} and the second asks if you want to allow spectators.)
The second is "Connect to a host"
The third is "Show saved IP"
The fourth is "Show IP history"
The fifth is "Connect to a copied IP from the clipboard"
The sixth is "Select Profile"
If you want to host, you need to forward your ports to allow port 10800. Go to www.whatismyip.com and give your partner the IP. Give it to them in the format "XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:10800"
For example, if your IP was "123.456.789.111" give them "123.456.789.111:10800" They copy that without the quotes and pick the 5th option.
